Endangered Forests are the most valuable forests in the world, forests that harbor such incredible biological diversity and species habitat that they must be protected from industrial development.

There are four types of Endangered Forests:

• Intact forest landscapes, which contain globally, regionally, or nationally significant forests
• Examples: the Amazon Basin, the Boreal forests of Canada and Russia.
• Forests that contain significant levels of species biodiversity
• Examples: tropical and some temperate rainforest regions.
• Forests that have been made rare due to human activity
• Examples: southeastern forests of the United States, the Tongass in Alaska.
• Forests that are critical habitat for threatened or endangered wildlife
• Examples: mountain caribou in the Inland Rainforests of British Columbia, orangutans in Indonesia.
